Release and Let Go of Pain with Guided Visualization

Release and Let Go of Pain with Guided Visualization

Pain is a sensation that all of us experience in our lives. It can cause great discomfort in our bodies and can be the source of tremendous suffering. But if we understand what pain is and begin to see it from a different perspective – that pain is a signal and a tool – then we can listen to our body’s messages and become empowered to reclaim our health and wellness once again.

Pain is always the result of stagnation, restriction of the normal flow of fluid or energy, somewhere in the body. Stagnation causes inflammation and the cardinal signs of this process are heat, swelling, redness and of course, pain. Western medicine uses drugs or therapies to reduce the inflammation and pump fluids out of the area. Massage increases the circulation of the blood and the lymphatic system. Acupuncture deals with blockages in Chi, allowing for normal flow in the body’s meridian systems. Chiropractic removes interference in the Nervous System, restoring the normal flow of healing energy in the body.

There are many different healing modalities and approaches to eliminate pain, remove stagnation and release blockages to the normal functioning of the body. Release & Let Go of Pain is not meant to replace the medical diagnosis of a condition or the benefit of any other healing modality. This guided visualization will lead you through a powerful process accessing your conscious and unconscious mind that will not only allow your body to heal itself more effectively, but will awaken your intuition about what you are experiencing, so that you may follow the direction your healing path needs to take, the one that is most appropriate for you.

If you’re coming to this meditation because you are experiencing pain in your body right now, let’s get one thing straight right away – it isn’t your pain. Don’t take ownership of it, you don’t want to. Pain and other symptoms produced by your body are merely signals your body uses to communicate to you that something isn’t right and something must shift. They’re signals from your body that are saying, “Pay attention here!”
Unfortunately, we’re not taught in our culture to pay attention to our bodies. To a large extent, we’re taught instead to ignore our body’s signals by numbing them out and turning them off with the drugs, pills, potions and lotions advertised by pharmaceutical companies. Or we’re told to resign ourselves to “just deal with it and get used to it” or worse yet, we’re told that we’re making it up and “it’s all in our head”.

The degree to which you turn your body’s messages off (with those medications, pills, potions and lotions), the louder and more intense that signal will have to become the next time so that eventually you do pay attention. Your body is giving you a warning that something needs to change – with your habits, your exercise, your nutrition, or your thinking – or a combination of all of them. So wouldn’t it be better to listen to the message now and deal with it now rather than putting it off for a later time when the problem will be worse and more severe? Absolutely.

As the saying goes, “that which is suppressed will be expressed in later days in uglier ways”. Now is the time to really listen and let the message to come through so you do what you need to do to allow your body to heal and free yourself from any unwanted sensations of discomfort, dis-ease, or pain that no longer serve you.

While listening to Release & Let Go of Pain, it’s best to sit or lay as comfortably as possible for the session. If you are feeling a considerable amount of discomfort in some area of your body during it, be sure to pick the position that will allow you to complete the full session. It’s important that you’re as comfortable possible throughout the entire session so you can get the most out of it. That way, you can Release & Let Go of all that isn’t serving you any longer and get back to the healthy, happy and vital life you are meant to be living right now.

  1. Loved this post, especially the line, “That which is suppressed will be expressed in later days in uglier ways.” I think a lot of us forget that and come to believe that suppressing something is the same thing as dealing with it.

    Not so much!

Thanks for the work you do to help people deal with pain.
