Which Direction is Your Health Moving Towards?

Which Direction is Your Health Moving Towards?

At any given moment, you are either moving towards Health or towards Sickness. Every action that you take (and also the ones you don’t take) either moves you towards a state of greater health and happiness… or away from it. They either move you towards a place of ease and peace… or it doesn’t.

Every time you go for a walk, you move towards Health. Every time you stay in to watch more TV, you move towards Sickness.

Every time you eat lots of fruits and veggies, you move towards Health. Every time you skip a meal, you move towards Sickness.

Every time you get a good night’s rest, you move towards Health. Every time you get overwhelmed with stress, you move towards Sickness.

And everything counts.

This not only means that every action moves you towards Health or towards Sickness, but also every thought you think and every feeling you feel as well.

Every time you explore a new way of healing yourself, you move towards Health. Every time you convince yourself that “oh, I guess I’ll just have to live with it”, you move towards Sickness.

Every time you forgive yourself for a mistake you have made in the past, you move towards Health. Every moment you continue to hold a grudge against someone, you move towards Sickness.

This works in all areas of your life too. Saving money moves you towards Abundance. Spending frivolously moves you towards Poverty. Getting something off your chest moves you towards a more harmonious relationship. Keeping it bottled up inside moves you towards a more dysfunctional relationship. Collaborating with others moves you towards a fulfilling career. Competing against another moves you towards limitation and separation.

I could go on and on with example after example, but what’s important here is that you gain this perspective when looking at your health.

Be honest with yourself right now. If you had to say which direction your health is moving right now…which would it be?

Are you moving towards Health right now…or are you making yourself sick?

Are your current lifestyle habits bringing you even more Health, more happiness, more balance, more harmony, more abundance, more fulfillment, more enjoyment, more ease? Or not?

To help you think of examples in your life right now of how you may be moving towards Health or moving towards Sickness, perform the following exercise:

Take out a piece of paper and a pen and draw a horizontal line across the page (or draw one in your mind’s eye). At the end of this line, on the right hand side, write “Health”. On the left side, write down “Sickness”.

Now, take any health habit you have right now, any one that comes to mind, and place it on the middle of this line. It could be your exercise habits, a certain eating choice, or a particular way you handle your stress – any one you want, just place it in the middle. You can even do this with one of the thoughts you regularly think or one of the feelings you regularly feel too.

Now if you were to draw an arrow from this health habit towards one of the ends of this line, which direction would it face? Would it point towards Health or towards Sickness? Which direction is doing this thing or thinking this thought or feeling this feeling moving you towards?

If you were to take all of the day-to-day health habits you have and place them on this line, would the majority of them be pointing you towards Health or towards Sickness?

The point of this exercise is to get you thinking, if you haven’t already, about the choices you are making in your day-to-day life and how they are affecting your health.

Very simply, you are either creating Health for yourself or you are making choices that are getting in the way of that naturally designed health coming through you.

You are either making yourself healthy or you are making yourself sick.
