You Are a Miracle

You Are a Miracle

Health is the natural state of the body. When that health is allowed to fully express itself, your body can heal all wounds, your organ systems function perfectly and you can easily handle all of the stresses in your life. You naturally feel an overflowing amount of energy and happiness in your life. This experience of vibrant health is possible for you because you are naturally designed to be healthy.

To illustrate this, let me take you back to a miracle that occurred in your life. Don’t think that any miracles have occurred in your life? I am certain that many miracles have occurred to you in your life, and that many more, both big and small, do in fact regularly happen to you all the time. You just may not be seeing them. But I assure you, there has been at least one BIG miracle that happened a long time ago…so long ago that you probably don’t even remember it.

The miracle I am talking about was you being born into the world!

Think about this: when you were born into this world, your body was made up of over a trillion cells. Millions and millions of cells made up your arms and legs, your fingers and toes. Millions more formed your eyes and ears, your brain and your heart, and of course your lungs that allowed you to let out this big scream to let the world know you were here!

But just nine months before your birth, you were just one cell. One perfect cell, made up of one sperm from Dad and one egg from Mom.

So how did you get from this one cell, to this trillion celled being with all of your perfectly operating parts and all of your perfectly coordinating systems?

Did you direct certain cells of yours to become your brain and others to become your heart, and still others to be your stomach?

Did you consciously control the process of forming your muscles, your bones, your skin, your eyes and ears and nose and mouth?

And then did you go and tell all of your body parts exactly what their jobs were and exactly how to do them so all of them would coordinate perfectly and function optimally?

No, of course you didn’t.

Well then, if not you…then who…? Or what…?

It didn’t just happen on its own did it?

The truth is you have an innate intelligence inside you, an innate wisdom that directed and coordinated your development. This innate intelligence took the blueprint that you got from Mom and Dad and created it into what became that perfect little you that was born into this world.

You are truly a miracle.

To this day, scientists do not understand why this process happens. Yes, they know how this process happens. They have observed and described the process of cell division and differentiation. We study it in school and memorize how the cell’s DNA unzips so that the RNA can come in and make another copy. Then proteins are made which form the various cellular structures and on and on until the cell finally splits apart to become two identical cells.

Science has even studied the process of how undifferentiated cells, or stem cells, branch out become more specialized cells. Some become nerve cells, which are vastly different than heart cells which are even more specialized than skin cells. Scientists are able to describe how that process works, but they cannot tell us why the process initiates in the first place. Why that fertilized egg starting dividing in the first place, is a mystery. It just knows to do so. Why does one stem cell know to become an insulin-producing cell in your pancreas and another stem cell know to become your pinky toe? They just know to do so.

Why this happens is a deep philosophical and spiritual issue that is too complicated to go into here, but suffice it to say, the innate wisdom of your body is nothing short of a miracle. And it is still with you right now.

This innate intelligence didn’t leave you when you left your mother’s womb. It is with you all day long, in every moment. It is with you as it grows your hair and fingernails. It is with you as it beats your heart and breathes for you while you are sleeping. It is with you as it digests your food and eliminates your wastes.

Take a moment to think about what you had for breakfast this morning. Hopefully you did eat breakfast this morning and hopefully you ate something nutritious and healthy. But even if you didn’t, your body took in all that food, mashed it all up and absorbed all the fats, proteins, carbohydrates it needed. Now your body is using all of those building blocks to make new cells for you and replace old ones.

Even if you had donuts and coffee for breakfast this morning, your body is using that as its fuel to get you through your day and using that food to make your new organs, your new muscles, your new skin, your whole new body. (Gives you a whole new perspective on that old saying “you are what you eat” doesn’t it?)

Did you know, that 95% of the cells in your body are completely replaced within a year?

Your stomach lining is replaced every couple of days. All of the cells in your liver are completely renewed every couple of months. Your bones take a little longer to replace, but 95% of you, is completely new every year. All this is happening without you having to consciously think about doing it at all. Your innate wisdom is running that show for you, consistently and perfectly.

Think of the last time you cut your finger. You might have cleaned it out, put a bandage on it and in a few days, it was all better, right? Well what healed the cut? The Band-Aid? The ointment you might have put on it?

No, your body healed it.

Your innate intelligence healed it.

YOU healed it.

So you might have a health challenge right now. You could be struggling with arthritis pain, with diabetes or with heart disease, or even cancer. If you are struggling with debilitating allergies or with extreme fatigue or with something as simple as trying to loose extra weight, know this:

Your body is naturally designed to be healthy, and once you are able to fully express it, the miracle that is within you can heal anything that is troubling you now.

  1. Great perspective shift, Dr Jay! So many times, if we can’t explain something fully or understand how it works, we don’t think it’s possible. This is a great example of “it just works.” 🙂

    1. So true Kelly. You don’t have to understand how gravity works to know that it does. Healing is another universal principle that works regardless of whether you “believe” it or not. I believe that a belief that healing will happen will accelerate the healing process, but it is not required. Thank you for sharing, Kelly!
